There was a double header of major events in the Lake District over the weekend (June 5th/6th) with the British Middle Distance Championships taking place on the Saturday at Summerhouse Knott and the Northern Championships on the Sunday at High Dam. Both are high quality technical areas and High Dam hosted the British Champs in 2017.

At the Middle Champs there were 6 POTOC members running and the top result went to Judy Douglas who made the podium with a 3rd place on W75. Great run Judy. There were also 2 near misses for the podium with Rob Holdway 4th on M35 and Ianka Evans also 4th on W50. Other results were:

Jean Rostron W75 - 6th

Peter Yoxall M75 - 20th

Alex Evans M18 - 24th

On the Sunday at the Northern Championships a few more members made the trip North for events over the classic distance. The weather was warm and sunny and coupled with the technical, energy sapping terrain at High Dam it meant there were some long times. Top result was Alex Evans who won the M18S class, Judy Douglas also followed up her 3rd at the Middles with another 3rd on W75L.

Other results were:

Peter Yoxall M75S - 5th

Jean Rostron W75 - 5th

Rob Holdway M35L - 6th

Martin Pigott M45L - 7th

Ianka Evans W50L - 9th

Andrew Rowe M45L - 11th

Eden Pigott W12 - rtd
