Captain’s Report 29th Jan 2018
On Sunday it was the East Midlands Championships at Bretton Clough and Eyam Moor, the 2017 event that was postponed in December.
We had a decent turnout with 9 POTOC members. The highlight was Ellie Bales coming 3rd on short blue, I was 3rd on Brown.
Graham Pigott had a disappointing run, by his own admission, taking 100 minutes on Short Brown.
Lil and Dave Bales on green were 15th and 22nd but separated by just 3 minutes. Marian Denham was 35th on the green course.
Alison Corbett had a return to action completing the short blue in 110 minutes for 31st place.
On short green Judy Douglas did well coming 15th in 64 minutes but John Pigott didn't do so well, taking 85 minutes and 29th.
Walton Chasers West Midlands League event
This Sunday 4th February, is the 2nd West Midlands league event, hosted by WCH at Brindley Heath on Cannock Chase.
I would encourage those of you that have just been to our local events, that this is a good event to try out the colour coded courses.
The colour coded courses are similar to our events. Easy is like Yellow. Moderate is similar to Orange. Short Hard is like short green. Long hard is comparable to green.
Compass Sport Trophy
We will once again be on the quest to reach the Compass Sport final, which this year is in October on Cannock Chase so extra incentive for us to qualify!
We need EVERYONE to take part in the qualifier on Sunday 11th March at Nescliffe, near Shrewsbury.
We are up against Walton Chasers, Wrekin, City of Birmingham (COBOC) and ERYRI.
I will send you further information next month about the entry process.
Also coming around quickly is the JK at Easter, where POTOC are organising the long distance event on Easter Sunday.
We need every club member to help on the day of this event, It will be one of the biggest events we have ever organised.
If you would like to enter the relays on Easter Monday look out for my email soon.
I look forward to seeing you soon at an event.
