POTOC Captains ReportCaptain’s Report 25th April 2018

After the busy period leading up to the JK at Easter, it has been a quieter period for events in the West Midlands.

Northern Champs

The Northern Champs weekend consisted of a UK urban league in Thirsk on Saturday and long distance at Wass Forest on Sunday.

At Thirsk, Jean Rostron was our sole participant and had an excellent run coming 3rd, just 150 seconds behind the winner.

On Sunday the Bales family and Jean Rostron were our only representatives. Jean started 7 minutes late & covered the tough steep 2.7k course in 113 minutes.

Ellie Bales had a solid run, coming 6th on W18E, just 11 minutes behind the leader. The course was a tough 5.5k with 320m climb.

Lil Bales was 9th completing 4.4 with 245m climb and Dave Bales 10th on M60 running 5.9 and 390m climb!

We are entering a busy period for our own events, after the first of the spring urban took place last week at Norton Heights attracting 14 runners.

On Wednesday 2nd May is the Meir Hay & Park Hall urban event, 45 minute score, starts from 18:30 - 19:15

Please inform the club (via email or Facebook event confirmation) if you wish to attend so enough maps can be printed off.

On bank holiday Monday 7th May is the 1st Summer Series at Biddulph Grange Country Park. See our website events page for details -
